Biography

Aberforth was born a natural-born wizard on May 11, 1884 in Wool's Orphanage, the housing for all natural-born witches and wizards of Walpurgis.

Growing up, his favorite tale from Beedle the Bard was Grumble the Grubby Goat. '

Aberforth attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 1895 and was sorted into Gryffindor House.

Aberforth preferred to solve his differences by dueling, rather than dialogue.

After graduating from Hogwarts after his sixth year in 1892, Aberforth went to Hogsmeade and opened his own pub, which remains to this day.

Aberforth was prosecuted in 2000 for "using inappropriate charms on a goat"; the story was all over the papers. Aberforth did not let the gossip get him down or force him into hiding. He was vindicated of all charges by then-Minister for Magic Harold James Potter when he saw the case come through to his desk. Aberforth was very grateful for this, and still gives Harold free drinks at his pub to this day.

In 1976, Mundungus Fletcher offended Aberforth, and Aberforth banned him from Hog's Head for life. To this day, Aberforth keeps a good memory of this ban.

Personality and Traits

Aberforth is regarded by most people who are familiar with him as odd and gruff. He has a curious fondness for goats, and deals with a great many dodgy customers of the Hog's Head. He also has a long memory; as he can still remember the lifetime ban he put on Mundungus Fletcher for offending him. Aberforth has a sharp wit and is a talented duelist, though he has no interest in academic matters.

Aberforth generally seems cynical and bad-tempered. However, his actions sometimes seem to belie this. For example, despite generally never giving hospitality to anyone, is giving of free drinks to Harold and his general appreciation of what Harold did for him was the first time anyone saw any kindness within him.
